Rib damage can be painful
\nThis week I found out
\nJust how very sore it feels
\nLeft without a doubt
\nBending down to pick up a book
\nThat had fallen on the floor
\nI managed to squash myself sadly
\nAnd the pain was good and raw<\/p>\n
A sharp crack became evident
\nFollowed by some pain
\nLeft me flushed and aching
\nAnd my sense began to drain
\nBreathing becoming painful
\nMoving painful too
\nI thought to go to hospital
\nTo see what they could do<\/p>\n
An X-ray might be possible
\nBut yesterday when I
\nWent to Hemel Hospital
\nNo word of a lie
\nAll the souls there were wonderful
\nHelpful to a tee
\nExamining my chest and ribs
\nThey helped me marvellously <\/p>\n
Giving blood more difficulty
\nAs many might attest
\nEither arm or hand felt dry
\nAt Pathology one can\u2019t deny
\nGetting fresh blood out of me
\nIs difficult and so sadly
\nA number of them tried
\nTheir wondrous patience they provide<\/p>\n
Caring and sharing thoughtfully
\nKeeping me warm it felt to me
\nDespite how busy they seemed to care
\nIt was relieving to just be there
\nSadly my double hip cannot be
\nNot for a while apparently
\nRib pain ongoing
\nIs really sore
\nAnd weakening you just know what for<\/p>\n
I can vouch, for the splendid way
\nEach of them helped anyway
\nThe extra mile and further they
\nGave to me I have to say
\nReception, Pathology everywhere
\nAll of them did really care
\nHappy smiling persevering
\nEfficient souls and so endearing<\/p>\n
Breathing deeply it reminds
\nJust how uncomfortable and finds
\nWays to remind the injured they
\nMust slow down a bit and right away
\nAll of the ladies they helped me
\nWheeled me out of the cold
\nAnd helped me be<\/p>\n
More relaxed and warm for I
\nWas suffering and we now know why
\nDamaged ribs and arthritically
\nBecomes woeful and honestly
\nFeeling lonely and a bit sad
\nEven if you are jack the lad
\nStill can weigh one down and I
\nWas cared for and I now know why.<\/p>\n
A phone call received that my opp would be
\nCancelled and so seemingly
\nIt was best to wait til the ribs calm down
\nAnd so I drove back through Hemel town
\nAte some food and some herbal tea
\nAnd just felt better actually
\nPutting patients at ease is good
\nTheir service done so well which could
\nMake one happier so I say thank you all
\nFor the brilliant way<\/p>\n
