Wildness and the lovely birds
\nwagtails to be sure
\nWho nest on arable grass land
\nFor them it\u2019s like a war
\nOf attrition for the mission
\nOf their family and their young
\nOf building nests of straw and feathers
\nLiving out among<\/p>\n
Farming lands, imagine it
\nThe great threat for them all
\nCombine harvesters
\nIt\u2019s high energy grass
\nFor the cows
\nit\u2019s all on call
\nSilage fermented energy
\nAnd eggs and babies they
\nOften just get crushed
\nDead to the world
\nSo many pay<\/p>\n
Little fawns left waiting
\nA mother
\nWhen she comes to find her charges
\nBroken
\nEmotionally she sums
\nup all the shocking sadness
\nher precious babies they
\nWe\u2019re Crushed and lost forever
\nLeaving her in with such dismay <\/p>\n
Wagtails lives are complex
\nOut in fields where we
\nCare about our profit base
\nMore Than wild birds flying free
\nThey just don\u2019t get a look In
\nRoe deer babies
\nthey
\nJust don\u2019t know what hits them
\nThe family blown away
\nFarmland birds are suffering
\nReduced now a great deal
\nTractors take out everything
