Rabbits have their families Several times a year
\nFrom four to seven babies
\nNaked blind and helpless
\nThe mother it is clear
\nEmpowered with love and kindness
\nThe pressure is on her
\nShe has to prepare a place for them
\nWhen it does occur<\/p>\n
Godly and creative
\nThe pressure is on we know
\nLooking after the mother and her ofspring
\nThere\u2019s a glow of light
\nDown in the burrow
\nAnd father has to be
\nLooking after his family
\nHunters outside be
\nAfter him be sure of that
\nThey want some rabbit pie
\nDo they care of broken families
\nHeartless soulless why
\nThey really do not have a clue
\nGorgers of dead flesh <\/p>\n
Hares though do not burrow
\nFastidious though they be
\nThey love to wash and dress their fur
\nAbove ground, naturally
\nHares don\u2019t dig like miners
\nThey prefer the open sky
\nThey love the rolling down land
\nWith great long legs which is why<\/p>\n
They can run like the clappers
\nWith their smaller family
\nThey face the wrath of hunters
\nTheir lives perilously
\nHighly strung but bold as well
\nAnd as silly as can be
\nI love the hares they are magical
\nWonderful and free<\/p>\n
Their eyes are placed so that they
\nCan look back when they run
\nBold as brass and on the ball
\nThey just enjoy the sun
\nHunters with dogs are out there
\nBut must leave the Hare
\nAlone
\nthe wildest creature hereabouts
\nCertainly those I have known
\nThey can be temperamental in the early Spring
\nHence known as completely mad
\nIn March
\nIt\u2019s when they fling
\nFear and utter madness
\nUp into the air
\nHappy yes as sand boys
