Vast amounts of honest courage
\nDespite the fear and dread and fright
\nAll done with such trepidation
\nIn what is so little light
\nFor 10-11 hours humping coal
\nMen with shovels
\ndonkeys too
\nSuffering a hopeless stint and journey
\nIt is what they do<\/p>\n
Really it\u2019s the height of nonsense
\nJust bad taste and vulgarity
\nAll sorts of injuries to take donkeys
\nGrossness and barbarity
\nUp to a ton of coal is carried
\nHeavy chafing bags they use
\nWounding donkeys they come up bleeding
\nSure enough saw they do abuse<\/p>\n
The hideousness and graceless bruising
\nDisfigurement. Both night and day
\nUninteresting and a boring nature
\nWith painfulness along the way
\nUlceration comes to most
\nBleeding legs and bruised joints too
\nThe suffering is really awful

Nonchalance and lack of care
\nScuffs and scrapes the donkeys share
\nRepressive action hearts of stone
\nBruises rampant broken bone
\nMentally each hour it\u2019s harder
\nDonkeys eager to provide
\nHeaps and heaps of dusty coal
\nAnd rotten feelings deep inside<\/p>\n
Pakistani men bent double
\nMuscles aching every hour.
\nMonotony and callousness
\nLosing really so much power
\nMental cases lots are suffering
\nTougher days not one or two
\nThe rocks and earth are steep and heavy
