Birds that have made their home
\nNear to the sea
\nAre called gulls and they
\nPossess a state of wonder
\nI admire them anyway
\nIn Brighton on the South coast
\nEast Sussex one might see
\nVarious types of Sea gull
\nWho live there and who be<\/p>\n
True to themselves
\nCommunal they are sharing
\nOn that they
\nHave every right to enjoy
\nTheir lives
\nAnd so do so everyday<\/p>\n
They are intelligent
\nAnd adaptable
\nThey can live for twenty years
\nThey pair up living together
\nYes they have their fears
\nBut are altogether protective
\nOf each other and they will
\nEat fish and molluscs and eggs and insects
\nAnd anything we spill<\/p>\n
At night they sleep down on the beach
\nOn calm water sometimes too
\nOn dunes on sandbars in open spaces
\nOn the look out it is true
\nFor the falcons and Hawks
\nWho might attack them
\nThey are wizards in the air
\nWhere there are humans
\nGulls will come
\nThey are really are aware<\/p>\n
They have a rousing aura
\nTheir rapturous displays
\nThey share food and it\u2019s whereabouts
\nWith their raucous ways
\nSome may call them vermin
\nBut they are wild birds
\nAnd they
\nwith some exhilaration
\nAre Euphoric I can say<\/p>\n
At Brighton lots of people
\nEat their take aways
\nOften see the sky borne souls
\nAttracted there most days
\nAn easy steal a bag of chips
\nA cake who knows, they might
\nSwoop down and take heed of it
