The combination out there
\nOf ignorance and arrogance
\nCoupled with a negligence
\nCreates abomination
\nA reserve in Mawana
\nA fence was broken through
\nThe futility of people there
\nWas anything but true

\nAnd seven elephants
\nRoaming they got through
\nthe broken fence
\nAnd terrorised
\nThe community tis said
\nActually killed a Shepherd
\nOne of their brethren dead<\/p>\n
Feeling intimidated
\nAnd uneasy what we see
\nIs the elephants were murdered
\nIt became a reality
\nBeing apprehensive
\nOf the hazard in their midst
\nDestruction thus took precedent
\nThey just couldn\u2019t resist<\/p>\n
That surge of fear and sorrow
\nThe need to blatantly
\nKill the creatures
\nSacrifice them
\nReally, seemingly
\nA pointless decision
\nFrighteningly made
\nSeven beautiful masterful souls
\nOn the ground we\u2019re laid<\/p>\n
A country such as South Africa
\nTo me I do surmise
\nMight have thought more sensibly
\nAnd could realise
\nThe need to save these animals
\nTo mend the bloody fence
\nTo call in those who cared
\nAnd could have come to their defence<\/p>\n
Wasting animal spirits
