In Africa alas the bullets
\nfly in all directions
\nthe Chinese have their cohorts
\nbought slaves from anywhere

\nthe Elephants, don’t stand a chance

\nand the poachers come in force
\nthose splendid tusks
\nare worth a bomb

\na bold and powerful soul
\nwho will charge and barge
\nprotecting its baby

is clearly every agony
\na mother can sustain
\nas her baby will be shot and
\nbutchered too

\nof bullets every living soul
\nis cut down and is left
\ntheir tusks hacked off their bodies

\nsuppurating fast
\ndeath’s odour attracts maggots

The poachers lack all spirit
\nthey are knaves who disregard
\nthe habitat, the heritage
\neverything is scarred
\nhoodlums in effect
\nfuelled by the money of the rich
\ncompassion they don’t have it

its murder in cold blood
\nwithout a care or anything
\nthey bring a bloody armoury
\nand all the trumpeting
