Going to the supermarkets
\nThe meat counter
\nGo see
\nIt\u2019s all packed up
\nIn plastic trays
\nIn them what we see
\nOf course it\u2019s flesh
\nAnd it\u2019s sold as meat
\nObviously it\u2019s flesh thats dead
\nWith a fairly short life
\nSo we are being led<\/p>\n
Away from who the dead flesh once was
\nA pig a cow a lamb a sheep
\na rabbit possibly
\nA goat
\nand then some ham a pig preserved to
\nLook
\nas though it really still is pink
\nWhen actually that\u2019s chemicals
\nJust in case you think
\nDead processed flesh is that sweet colour
\nActually it would
\nBe a nasty grey colour
\nYes naturally it should<\/p>\n
The chemicals they use to give that cosmetic look
\nAre really rather dangerous nitrates and nitrites
\nHook
\ninto the colouration
\nGiving it the look
\nThat everyone enjoys with ham
\nThat someone else did cook<\/p>\n
The life of a chicken
\nIs counted just in days
\nThose jungle chickens far away
\nLive years
\nAnd often raise
\nTheir families
\nWalking here and there
\nIn jungle pastures, they
\nReally have the wildest life
\nAnd, enjoy each day<\/p>\n
Lambs you see them leaping
\nPlayful as can be
\nSitting by their mothers sides
\nIn true harmony
\nNot so what you are looking at
\nMany get the chop
\nThey hardly have a year of life
\nTill their little hearts they stop<\/p>\n
Many come from New Zealand all those miles away
\nShipped by boat frozen solid
\nAdding to the display
\nPoor little mites so happy
\nIn the New Zealand green
\nAnd ending in a local shop
\nTheir whole damn life has been
