Often I speak of this and many
\nfail to understand just why
\nHumanity the profit seekers
\nCreate great horror on the fly
\nElephants great beasts of burden
\nWeighty lumbering giants they
\nBear their tonnage with much effort
\nBuilt to live for many a day<\/p>\n
Seventy years or so
\nThey are plying
\nIn the wilds they walk all day
\nSocially active splendid parents
\nKindly souls in every way
\nMan the untamed arrogant soldier
\nIgnorant of the wild souls ways
\nMisunderstanding the elephant\u2019s need
\nBull hooks and a lack of praise<\/p>\n
Working animals logging forests
\nReligious offerings in the street
\nChained up subjected to drums and cymbals
\nTo the ugly less discreet
\nCrowds that come to see the creatures
\nRidden by the mahouts who
\nCall themselves the elephant experts
\nSadly though it isn\u2019t true<\/p>\n
It\u2019s based on ignorance
\nBound with profit
\nMoney grabbing Insensitive fools
\nThe elephants seen as massive earners
\nHighly intelligent lots of rules
\nSteal the babies from the families
\nKill the brothers and sisters who
\nGive honest guidance to their charges
\nIntelligence their whole life through<\/p>\n
Torture is the scope of people
\nA crucifixion of each soul
\nTie them up and beat them daily
\nBreak their soul urge and reveal
\nAll their aggression all their passion
\nAll their love for wild journeys they
\nAll the knowledge gained from their mother
\nLost and wasted made to pay<\/p>\n
A hell of a price in education
\nThey become just slaves that\u2019s all
\nTo ride to work
\nat the beck and call
\nBull hooks teach them
\nTheir will means all
\nIf they err they will feel the pain
\nPhajaan the way of breaking them
\nAnd elephant slaves join the great chain<\/p>\n
We are cruel
\nNo understanding
\nOf what it\u2019s like to be wild and free
\nMoney makes our world go around
\nWe rule in fact so selfishly
\nWe are top dog in the kennel
\nWe are top fish in the sea
\nAnimals are seen not heard
\nPhajaan is inexplicably
\nHumanity, a maddening curse
\nOn wildness at its root
\nNever godly so unfeeling
