\nVehicle dwellers
\nThe Non brick lot
\nMany many claims
\nThey have taken over roads and lanes
\nTracks and buildings too
\nMaking it a shanty town
\nOn abandoned land
\nA view<\/p>\n
Is eviction notices everywhere
\nVans in disrepair
\nYards and just encampments
\nThey seem to be everywhere
\nMess and waste and rubbish
\nUnsightly in a way
\nRuining the countryside
\nBut it\u2019s still a place to stay.<\/p>\n
Graffiti a kind of freedom
\nRural homelessness
\nSome it seems have chosen
\nTo enter, they confess
\nLiving rough and ready
\nIn a community
\nBut what of the bricks and mortar people
\nAnd
\nThe town of Glastonbury<\/p>\n
Famed for all its magic
\nIt\u2019s High Street
\nAnd it\u2019s shops
\nPurveyors of the eccentric side
\nIn people\u2019s minds the tops
\nIn magical creations
\nIn alternative points of view
\nThe right to dress as one sees fit
\nAn endearing point of view
\nIt compliments endeavour
\nAnd actually rings true<\/p>\n
It retains its roots in History
\nWith bunting and displays
\nBards reciting thus inviting
\nA reception of the ways
\nHistory presented itself say long ago
\nWith throngs of many coloured dress
\nAnd a triumphant flow<\/p>\n

\nThe great island of Avalon
\nAnd the stories long ago
\nThe white spring and the Red spring
\nThe chalice gardens too
\nThere\u2019s magic and there\u2019s wisdom

Fairyland and wonderland
\nIs admirable we see
\nAll sorts of different people
\nWalking sharing constancy
\nAn organic shop
\nCandles crystals incense by the score
\nBooks and really exclusive things
\nWho could want for more<\/p>\n
The goddess and the green man
\nAnd many many more
\nSome good places to eat and drink
\nAnd congregate for sure
\nGood ales and common cider
\nIt\u2019s where good apples grow
\nWhere poets painters and witchy folk
\nAre many folk to know<\/p>\n
So two sides to Old Glastonbury
\nIt\u2019s kind of light and shade
\nIt\u2019s draws a heap of tourist types
\nWho join the big parade
\nUnseen though the darker side
\nThe caravans where be
\nLots of homeless freedom seekers
\nReputed to feel free<\/p>\n
It can present an eye sore
\nIt feels a bit unfair
\nThe residents of bricks and mortar
\nMany really care
\nTheir town is being over run
\nWith shadows of a sort
\nLiving off the countryside
\nHarbouring different thought
\nNot supportive of the Council
\nA blemish so to say
\nTwo distinct alternatives
