A hot May evening
\nWhen I got back
\nExhausted by the ride
\nThe beautiful little maple tree
\nSlightly to the side
\nOf my garden where I saw
\nA girl upon a swing
\nGently contemplating
\nHow clearly it did bring
\nTo her
\nAs it happened the tree
\nHad been trimmed today
\nA beautiful ball of crimson
\nA really sweet display
\nAnd seeing a lass a swinging
\nReminded me once I
\nSwung upon a garden swing
\nBut now old couldn\u2019t try
\nIt kind of reminded me
\nWhen I was younger
\nSurprised I was to see
\nAnnabelle enjoying the peace
\nAnd calm, amazingly<\/p>\n
Took me back to a time
\nA long long time before
\nIt just felt like yesterday
\nTo me, yes I was sure
\nA glorious little Maple
\nLeaves of every hue
\nOrange red and crimson
\nBountiful a view
\nAlmost from a story book
\nFrom many years before
\nI got in and I fell asleep
\nVery very sure<\/p>\n
I had reached a new dimension
\nSeventy years perhaps
\nThat period came back to me
\nMany many gaps
\nSwinging in a neighbours garden
\nOn some other tree
\nKicking my legs out an sailing
\nPretending I was free<\/p>\n
Then seeing little Annabelle
\nBrought that moment I
\nHad been gently swinging
\nTrying to touch the sky
\nLetting go and flying
\nUp into the air
\nTouching the clouds
\nThe beautiful clouds
\nAnd just being aware <\/p>\n
