It had been a hot day
\nA pertinent time
\nShe had been feeling jittery
\nA lot, run and climb
\nHer folks were away
\nIn the kennels was she
\nLost in the moment

Herself of the nerves
\nOf the pain, in her soul
\nNo streets lights around
\nUnsure of her role
\nThis black Labrador
\nAs nervous as hell
\nBroke into the night
\nFor to have a spell
\nOf freedom, of searching
\nOut in the field
\nShe ran like the clappers
\nTrying to build
\nSome confidence up
\nIt was dark, it was still
\nHot in the moment
\nShe gave into will<\/p>\n
Not a glimmer of light
\nThe sentinel trees
\nSeemingly darkening
\nReally a tease
\nFeeling alone in the heat of the night
\nThe odd headlight beaming
\nAlone in her flight<\/p>\n
A lost soul alone
\nA heart thumping tune
\nShe ran and she ran
\nShe would be somewhere soon
\nThe owls hooting far off
\nThe foxes that cry
\nA car took her out
\nAnd there she did lie<\/p>\n
Lost to the world
\nA silence took hold
\nShe recalled her guardians
\nBoth in the fold
\nOf a Cypriot evening
\nFar far away
\nWhen this pale Angel came
\nAnd our eyes locked
\nThe fey
\nPerhaps in her reckoning
\nClearly I felt
\nComforted by her
\nAnd how she had dealt<\/p>\n
With my passing
\nShe flagged down two gentleman from India, who
\nBoth were exemplary
\nAll three were true
\nIt was happening in the clear darkness
\nI felt
\nHer heart softly caring
\nI truly was dealt<\/p>\n
A wonderful hand
\nA spirited sigh
\nThis lass she my saviour
\nBorn from on high
\nA silence prevailed
\nAs she softly exclaimed
\nher love and I felt it
\nNobody blamed<\/p>\n
Oblivion, softly cradled my soul
\nI was drifting and lifting
\nShe knew her role
\nA beauty she took charge
\nShe handled it all
\nI cried out to the heavens
