{"id":63244,"date":"2024-04-20T07:58:51","date_gmt":"2024-04-20T07:58:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=63244"},"modified":"2024-04-22T13:45:15","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T13:45:15","slug":"llensteffan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2024\/04\/llensteffan\/","title":{"rendered":"Llensteffan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marion Evans bought the castle<br \/>\nIt sits, looking down<br \/>\nOn a gorgeous beach of golden sands<br \/>\nAnd the quaintest  town<br \/>\na  charming little  voyage of souls<br \/>\nPretty painted homes<br \/>\nThe estuary is colour matched<br \/>\nWith the sky  just expect some gnomes<br \/>\nWho frequented the headland castle<br \/>\n900 years ago<br \/>\nWhen the Normans added stone<br \/>\nAll Clearly  in the know.<\/p>\n<p>Once a wooden battlement but they<br \/>\nBrought common stone<br \/>\nto shore<br \/>\nUp and protect themselves<br \/>\nUp there bleak and raw<\/p>\n<p>A cavalcade of colour<br \/>\nBeach and sea and green<br \/>\nFarmland and wild garlic<br \/>\nDecorate the scene<br \/>\nWe saw a home  LLansteffan<br \/>\nQuaint and quiet and cool<br \/>\nA dancing stream gurgled along<br \/>\nAn addition just to hear  it\u2019s call<br \/>\nA wild and endearing garden<br \/>\nWith gunnera  growing free<br \/>\nBrought we hear from New Zealand<br \/>\nAnd now invasively<\/p>\n<p>Looking like some giant<br \/>\nWho liked his crumble sweet<br \/>\nHad sown these humble M\u0101ori seeds<br \/>\nTo monstrously compete<br \/>\nWith local wildness plantain<br \/>\nDandelion and more<br \/>\nSeveral little orchids too<br \/>\nScattered on the floor<\/p>\n<p>The house set back<br \/>\nOf black and white<br \/>\nWith gardens to the rear<br \/>\nSteps to take you  higher<br \/>\nContemplatively,  to cheer<br \/>\nThe soul urge and the heart strings<br \/>\nBees and bugs and butterflies<br \/>\nA spiritual place of solace<br \/>\nSatisfaction wise<\/p>\n<p>Tucked away in hedge land<br \/>\nFeelings come and go<br \/>\nA wealth of vital greenery<br \/>\nA harmony and flow<br \/>\nMutual understanding<br \/>\nAnd generous rapport<br \/>\nSeveral helpful neighbours<br \/>\nKnocking on one\u2019s door<\/p>\n<p>Youth is what is needed<br \/>\nA pliant back or two<br \/>\nSwing the sickle heave the spade<br \/>\nTo brighten up the view<br \/>\nOvergrown and clearly loved<br \/>\nNeed helping hands to be<br \/>\nGiving some  arduous Labour<br \/>\nAnd ingenuity.<\/p>\n<p>A grove of wood and tangle<br \/>\nAn eddy of beyond<br \/>\nSteps up to a garden<br \/>\nI\u2019d need a magic wand<br \/>\nTo get up there me thinks today<br \/>\nIt\u2019s not an easy trot<br \/>\nA lovelier couple you could  never meet<br \/>\nI liked them both a lot.<\/p>\n<p>Wales has so much to offer<br \/>\nThe people are sublime<br \/>\nTheir attitude is helpful<br \/>\nAnd On that fair I dine<br \/>\nBeing old and antiquated<br \/>\nIt\u2019s really good to feel<br \/>\nPeople around you will help you<br \/>\nThat really does appeal<\/p>\n<p>The house is rather special<br \/>\nThe problem is for me<br \/>\nSteep stairs made of concrete<br \/>\nIt\u2019s not so easily<br \/>\nManageable on  the basis<br \/>\nOf possibly every day<br \/>\nWhich is why I have thought it through<br \/>\nand I have to say<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s just too much for me, I think<br \/>\nI need an easier task<br \/>\nBut assuredly I am hoping<br \/>\nSomeone soon will ask<br \/>\nThem if they can buy their house<br \/>\nI am certain that is so<br \/>\nSo much land and things to do<br \/>\nThat much I do know<\/p>\n<p>The beach a stones throw, really<br \/>\nGolden vibrant sand<br \/>\nThe estuary is wonderful<br \/>\nOne can understand<br \/>\nHow Dylan Thomas loved the place<br \/>\nPoets clearly do<br \/>\nI hope to retire somewhere in Wales<br \/>\nAnd absorb an amazing view<\/p>\n<p>Might be mountains might be sea<br \/>\nMight be woods some where free<br \/>\nA slower pace where wildness flows<br \/>\nWhere rhyme and reason extends the prose.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you Anne and Martin for your time and viewing your lovely house.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marion Evans bought the castle It sits, looking down On a gorgeous beach of golden sands And the quaintest town a charming little voyage of souls Pretty painted homes The estuary is colour matched With the sky just expect some &hellip;
