Hard times
\nare getting closer

\nthe money’s tight
\nand when this happens
\nsometimes
\nsome don’t know just what’s

\nand the voiceless get forgotten
\nits not that people are
\ncruel, in fact
\nits just they lose it
\nthey can see no star
\nguiding them, and they shut down
\ndepression takes a hold
\nsleep packs up
\ndrink takes over
\nin their pain
\ntheir rolled<\/p>\n
that’s when a need is key
\nto feed the cats and dogs
\nthat may otherwise be
\nneglected kicks in,so that’s a
\ngood idea
\nprovides the key
\nanimals get fed each day
\npaid for by those
\nwho can
\ntill people get back on their feet
