The daffodils are singing
\nNarcissus in full bloom
\nYouths once loved their shadows
\nA gorgeous glowing plume
\nBundles of them everywhere
\nA nosegay of such Thought
\nPetticoats of orange too
\nSo many bunches bought <\/p>\n
Mother\u2019s Day this Sunday
\nFor Mothers near and far
\nThe postmen out delivering
\nEarly yes they are
\nAmazon and others
\nBoxes of fine flowers
\nWithout mums where would we be
\nAmong the many showers<\/p>\n
Falling out of grey skies
\nAnd drab and wet despair
\nTrees a lot still leafless
\nTheir lacy branches share
\nA clear view through to cold wet trunks
\nAnd branches dark and cool
\nAnd underneath great sheaths of daffodils
