Let\u2019s remember that fox

\nIt\u2019s family no doubt
\nIn the warmth of the earth
\nOut perhaps hoping for a Yuletide dinner
\nTo share with his family
\nAnd a spot of mirth
\nA hunt though was out there
\nClad in their finery
\nWanting to hunt
\nWanting to try
\nEveryone happy
\nParading with joyousness
\nAfter a fox
\nWanting it to die<\/p>\n
Well it happened the chase
\nThe inglorious spectacle
\nHorses were ridden with gusto
\nAnd strain
\nThe fox was ahead
\nDusting through thistles
\nScraping his poor feet
\nHeart thumping like lead<\/p>\n
They caught up with him
\nSunk in the earth where he scarpered
\nDigging and scaling
\nTo try and get away
\nTo get back to his family
\nHis blood vessels pumping
\nHoping for fortune
\nOn that fateful day<\/p>\n
The Mobsters surrounded
\nThe hooves Loud and clouty
\nVoices engaged in laughter and shout
\nSuddenly he was picked up by a hunter
\nAnd thrown to the hounds
\nIf you had any doubt<\/p>\n
Trail hunting hubris temper and rollicking
\nFangs at the ready
\nFox innards delight
\nLast thought was his vixen
\nSaddened and sorry
\nAs his body was ruined
\nBy many a bite<\/p>\n
He expired in great agony
\nGnashing and bashing
\nThe hunters were into him
\nReally no chance
\nHis innards torn out
\nAnd painfully eaten
\nBeaten was he without one more glance<\/p>\n
Boxing Day hunting
\nWith spirited hunts people
\nAll around England
\nPort soaked noses red
\nBreeches stuffed full
\nOf turkeys and mallards
\nAnd now a wee fox
\nYes he was dead<\/p>\n
Hunting with hounds
\nIs illegal in England
\nBut cops turn a blind eye to festivity
\nChasing wild animals through
\nFrosty thickets
\nIs what life\u2019s about
