I met a man some years ago
\nAn Australian was he
\nA geologist of standing
\nEnlightened and aware
\nWhat our Earth is made of
\nHow rocks were formed
\nThe care
\nHe put into his studies
\nEnvironmentally
\nSeismic, weather and tectonic movement
\nScientifically<\/p>\n
A gentleman a genius
\nHe travelled near and far
\nHis daughter Cristina from Ecuador
\nBecame a shining star
\nHis wife Victoria Andean born
\nAn inspiration too
\nAs a family they were full of joy
\nAnd dedicated to
\nBeing truly happy
\nA Well travelled thoughtful soul
\nAlan was a gentleman
\nResourcefully, saw his role
\nIn heading up the family
\nWith insight and empathy
\nReliable and eloquent
\nSo spirited was he<\/p>\n
He was always very thoughtful
\nInventive in so many ways
\nHe didn\u2019t let things worry him
\nVery quick to praise
\nOthers so attractive his personality
\nA lovely chap to be around
\nJust so creative, he<\/p>\n
Kind, a really lovely man
\nSo Genuine was he
\nquiet of mood
\nAnd constant
\nIn his love and care
\nConfirming and affirming
\nAnd always very fair<\/p>\n
Whether Working in the outback
\nOr in the Andes he
\nAppreciated Nature
\nHe loved the artistry
\nThe language and the miracles
\nCogent and inspired
