Just been watching the Red Kite
\nA swirling
\nIt\u2019s moves unfurling
\nA rapturous creative observing arc
\nAttested and deliberate
\nRight from the start
\nHunting as soon as the light
\nComes to be
\nA carrion scoffer road kill now be
\nMuch of its food espied from on high
\nMice other rodents
\nFrom high in the sky<\/p>\n
Amazing ability something as small
\nFrom very high up
\nAbove the trees tall
\nConnected is she
\nAnd inquisitive bird
\nIn nests often old
\ntoys
\nAnd cloths found
\nClearly pure joys
\nevident
\nIn her explorative way sometimes
\nIn old crows nests And a squirrels drey<\/p>\n
I live in the Chilterns
\nWhere chalk hills exclaim
\nSome 200 kites congregate
\nA red flame
\nof feathery wisdom
\nSits high in the sky
\nAnd roosts in the tree tops
\nHere by and by<\/p>\n
A genuine soul
\nIntroduced thirty years
\nSome think it\u2019s madness
\nBut I love their power
\nWatching them circle
\nIs positive, how
