Poor old Rex took ill again
\nAs fragile as could be
\nMy head it was swimming
\nI really felt sickly
\nOn thinners it is surely
\nNot a great idea
\nTo be rocking when one is walking
\nThat much just seemed clear
\nNot wanting to eat much
\nAnd gradually as the day progressed
\nCame the unsteadiness
\nI really felt so stressed<\/p>\n
Called up the local dr
\nThey were closed all day
\nStaff training
\nUnhelpful to me why now I pray
\nThe day I feel so awful
\nSo stressed and sickly too
\nOf all days it\u2019s staff training
\nI couldn\u2019t believe it was true<\/p>\n
As the day progressed I got worse and worse
\nMy head a hive of pain
\nMy balance was all over the place
\nAnd I had to refrain from falling
\nMy main worry and being sick for sure
\nRinging the dr and finally
\nshe was knocking at my door<\/p>\n
I was pale and teetering
\nShe thought possibly
\nI might have had a stroke
\nAnd did a lot of tests on me
\nShe decided to ring for an ambulance
\nThat\u2019s when Holly and Gemma appeared
\nTook me off to Watford
\nInside I suppose, I cheered<\/p>\n
It took a fair old time
\nBeing cared for all the way
\nThese ambulance staff are angels
\nSoftening our dismay
\nJolly and truly caring
\nThe nhs excels
\nForty five minutes
\nHappy really one of the nicer spells<\/p>\n
Pouring with rain a real hive
\nOf quiet activity
\nThree ambulances unloading
\nAnd three more actually
\nWheeled in to thecA&E
\nNurses everywhere
\nOrderlies and doctors
\nAll delivering care<\/p>\n
I was seen to right away
\nThe ambulance team were good
\nThey came and said goodbye to me
\nNot really that they should
\nThey wanted to they thanked me
\nFor what I was going to do write them each a poem
\nAnd tell the world how true<\/p>\n
These angels are how worthy
\nHow special and they are
\nAnd I was really lucky
\nTo meet up with them by far
\nSo I was seen by \u201cprecious\u201d
\nAnd a Romanian Nurse
\nThey took some blood out of my hands
\nFor blood the nurses curse<\/p>\n
Lousy veins so difficult for dracula to sup
\nI mean they needed lots of it it takes time to fill a cup!
\nBut they were clearly up to it
\nLooked after me and made
\nMe comfortable everyone of them
\nAnd I joined the sick parade
\nThe corridor stowage beckoned
\nAll sorts trolleys wheeled
\nNo place in the wards alas
\nThe chaos was revealed<\/p>\n
But again they were all fantastic
\nEvery single one
\nJoyful and triumphant
\nA little bit of sun
\nFrom all of them this dark wet night
\nOff to the scanner I
\nAgain the staff there special
\nNo real reason why
\nThat is who they are
\nAll special<\/p>\n
Afterwards waiting for results
\nAnd the drs <\/p>\n
