Archie came from Ireland
\nSeveral moons ago
\nPoint to point
\nAnd now retired from all of that
\nA glow
\nHis age and his experience
\nBeing loved and cared for, He
\nWill soon be coming
\nTo Hawthorn Hart
\nA place where mystery<\/p>\n
And magick is available
\nA wild flower meadow where
\nSome gorgeous wild herbs
\nTend to grow
\nTheir secrets he may share
\nWild horses and ponies
\nDevelop their wonderful own ways
\nThey get to know the healing herbs
\nIt\u2019s more than just a phase
\nThey go through being sensitive
\nMeadows are great places
\nWhere herbals can be found
\nTo help them through their paces<\/p>\n
Archie\u2019s eyes of ebony
\nShaped differently from ours
\nThey are large of course
\nAnd every horse
\nHas these amazing powers
\nOn the side of their heads
\nUnlike us
\nTheir overall vision
\nIs wide
\nBeing prey animals in the wilds
\nNeeds be
\nSomething inside<\/p>\n
360 degree of range
\nSpherical they can
\nHave marvellous sight
\nYes at night
\nUnlike common man
\nThey detect the smallest movement
\nAnd can see afar
\nA changeable lens shape
\nHonestly to me
\nthey are the star<\/p>\n
Nature has its pitfalls
\nIn a paddock one might know
\nWhere wildness is apparent
\nA horse will tend to show
\nSome in house inclination
\nTo understand that they
\nCan self heal with wild medicinals
\nLearned by them each day<\/p>\n
Humans many have lost that power
\nWhich is why the witch can be
\nHelpful to the horse that
\nLives
\nin a broad field
\nand we
\nAs caring sharing animal lovers
\nMust appreciate
\nIn our spaces there are lots
\nOf good inside the farm gate<\/p>\n
Thistles dandelions stinging nettles
\nMint and burdock they
\nRed clover cow parsley,hawthorn
\nHazel way
\nmore in fact on offer
\nBlackberries, rose hips they
\nWillow and rosemary and calendula heal
\nAlong the way <\/p>\n
Looking at Dear Archie
\nHe has a loving look
\nOne must remember in new places
\nTo look beyond the book
\nLook Out for herbs that are harmful
\nLike ragwort,and sycamore
\nAcorns nightshade hemlock and yew
\nAnd of course
\nSome more
\nbuttercups
\nLaburnum privet laurel there
\nBracken fern is deadly
\nWe all must be aware
\nLook after darling Archie
\nHe is such a lovely boy
\nI love his eyes and his handsome face
