I live about a year on earth
\nNot very long at all
\nI do look a bit ominous
\nAn insect
\nand as a rule
\nI love heaps moistness turns me on
\nExcites me in a way
\nI cannot fly I live in rocks
\nI am a night soul
\nSo during the day
\nI really prefer just staying put
\nI rest during the day
\nI am very sad I cannot fly
\nCentral America I lay
\nIn semi arid earth
\nAnd actually do not bite
\nUnless you disturb me
\nThen I bite with all my might<\/p>\n
You will know if I have bitten you
\nIt will be quite sore
\nYou may develop quite a rash
\nOf feel like flu and more
\n\u201cNino de La tierra\u201d
\nChild of the earth
\nThat\u2019s me
\nI love the taste of decaying plants
\nAnd do honestly
\nMy life really quite solitary but sometimes
\nWe find friends
\nJerusalem crickets some call us
\nOr Potato bugs which sends
\nFrights up human beings
\nBut honestly we try
\nTo avoid you and get on with life
\nAnd that friends is no lie<\/p>\n
Our one disappointment
\nIs that we can\u2019t fly
\nAnd love the rocks and garden heaps
\nWhere we love to lie.
\nIf you find us in your house
\nIt\u2019s likely that your gutters need
\nCleaning out
\nFor we are drawn to detritis
