Waking up late
\nwe looked out of our cave
\nThick snow had fallen,
\nLone was the brave
\nOne, he leapt down the hill
\ntowards the stream
\nThrough the Birch forest
\nto try and redeeem
\nHimself,
\nI am older
\nmy eyes not that great
\nThe nearness to these birches
\nrunning at a rate
\nIs not exactly easy,

We played at sharing shadows

\nthrough the trees

Out into the open ground
\nThe snow had blown down thick
\nNothing seemed had come that way

\nOn out across the frozen lake

\nChristmas is a coming

Just down the valley

\ndragged all that way
\nHow they did greet

It really did turn nasty too
\nThe snow fell overnight
\nThere really was no place to go
\nBright though it was night
\nNothing stirred outside the cave
\nMelt water was on tap
\nAnd that fresh Buck filled
\nall of us
\nWe had all entered the lap
\nOf luxury that Christmas
\nBut we did hear shooting, we
\nWere safe and sound
