The Arboreal Herbivore
\nLoves climbing trees
\nThe Eucalyptus where it does so with ease
\nOften in a fork in open woodlands
\nThey be
\nIn the South East in QLD NSW
\nWe see
\nMostly at dusk or at Dawn
\nOr at night
\nThe Adustus in the North
\nAnd the Victor in the South
\nThey love to sleep
\nDreaming away
\nDigesting the leaves that they eat
\nAnd they pay
\nA high regard for their mothers
\nWho feed pap to their offspring
\nWhich helps them succeed<\/p>\n
They are mostly solitary
\nLiving in ranges
\nWedged in their trees
\nWith their speckled fur
\nFor them life is faultless
\nA flawless performance
\nMales mate from four years
\nTheir eminence raw<\/p>\n
Imagine how boring it must be
\nOn leaves
\nStrong tasting toxics
\nWhere chewing achieves
\nThe nutrition necessary
\nFor 4 hours or so
\nWith 20 hours sleep
\nWatch out down below<\/p>\n
They shit fibrous pellets
\nPencil shaped they
\nLive a boring existence
\nImperfect some say
\nSusceptible really to bacterial woe
\nChlamydia sadly which blinds them you know
\nThey are marsupials pouch bound and they
\nBeing born immature
\nHave a magical way
\nOf deriving their life path
\nFrom leaves that is all
\nWhich sounds rather boring
\nListen to their call
\nA sort of low grunt
\nA cautionary sound
\nReally just warning you
