\nFrom my home near the forest
\nWhere fox and deer play
\nBadgers and squirrels and

\nA cornelian gem in the darkness
\nThe key
\nFaeries come hither
\nAnd dance in the gleam
\nWearing silk alabaster

At the stones where wild moles
\nExcavate in their way
\nDrying out earth worms
\nThat become their mainstay
\nHazels and Hornbeams
\nA grove on the hill
\nWhere the rituals of old
\nAre happening still<\/p>\n
The colours are vivid
\nFrom the bright Summer light
\nA spell often cast here
\nPerhaps a bold sprite
\nA goblin the nymphs even
\nSensationally
\nWith unearthly eyes
\nThat only few see<\/p>\n
Magic lore and the craft
\nEnchantments galore
\nThe kings stone the whispering knights
\nFrom before
\nChipping norton imposing its shadows below
\nAnd the great sky above us
\nWith its cloud cover glow.<\/p>\n
Come with me friends
\nWe will motor away
\nOut Into Oxfordshire
\nHamlets that sway
\nWith their beautiful stone
\nPictures galore
\nSweet scented gardens
\nAnd smiles by the score<\/p>\n
Come share the journey
\nThe leaf glint away
\nPassing thatched cottages
\nAnd trees that sway
\nThe great Yew so ancient
\nThe bold beech so tall
\nThe willows their sadness
\nBowed down for us all<\/p>\n
Parked up and walking
\nTo the kings stone away
\nOn a hill we will perch
\nFeeling the day slip away
\nA curdle of orange
\nOf brimstone and blue
\nFading fast in a blast
