\na choir of distinction
\negg laying
\nsoon paying
\nhigh prices for
\ntheir gift of life
\non this now crowded planet
\ndiscarded plastic and rubbish
\nand more<\/p>\n
it ends up in their gut
\nand many are dying
\ntrying to digest
\nour plastic and oil
\nit looks like it could
\nbe sort of quite edible
\nbut it does kill them
\nand turn them to soil<\/p>\n
as chicks leave their shell
\nthey enter our hell
\nthe earth overflowing right now
\nbillions and billions of bags
\nfill up our oceans
\ntampons and pills
\nthe earth honest folks, it now sags<\/p>\n
from the weight
\nof the flotsum and jetsum
\nwe cram onto coastlines and seas
\nso many beautiful birds are now dying
\ntheir intestines bunged up
\nif you please<\/p>\n
with a vilest assortment
\nof rubbish
\nfrom modern day living to now
\nevery conceivable bottle top
\nrubber bands, you name it how<\/p>\n
can the gaggle of birds
\never realise
\ncan the albatross lost in the sky
\ncan the eagle, the condor
\nthe vulture carry on flying
\non high<\/p>\n
man has to stop what he’s doing
\nthrowing away vital things
\nwe must not abuse
\nfor if we re- use
\nimagine a while, what that brings<\/p>\n
to the table a far safer
\nplacement
\nwhere sea birds and wild souls
\ncan be
\nable to choose better food in their diets
