A world without Elephants
\ncan you believe it
\nIvory, Zoo’s, Circus
\nand more
\nHumans are shits
\nthere’s no getting away
\nfrom it
\nthat’s what they’re up to
\nand that’s where it sits
\non horizons of gore
\nwe can see them
\nshadows once proudly
\ntraverse the hills
\nsearching for water
\nliving a wild life
\nand here in the place of
\ntheir birth
\ntheir blood spills
\nout of great wounds
\nmade by vile nasty poachers
\nwho come at the behest
\nof Ivory gangs
\nCircus and Zoo’s
\nyes some motley crews
\nexacting great pain
\nwith their terrible fangs
\nmachete’s and guns
\nfire salvo after salvo
\ninto the bodies
\nof these silent souls
\nthe Elephant tribe
\nnow die in their hundreds
\ncut down by poachers
\nwho surface from holes
\nin the dankest existence
\nwhere the grubbiest infidels
\nwrestle and fight
\nover now what is rare
\ntusks of the earthlings
\nthat live and walk out of the
\nwondrous sunlight
\ninto awful despair
\nChina and those other countries
\nnow trading
\nemploying the smugglers
\nwho stuff tusks into
\ntheir cases, their cargoes
\nlost in the paperwork
\nfilled with such darkness
\nthey know what they do
\nmore elephants die
\nthe thunder and lightening
\nthe blood tears the heart
\nout of Africa,we
\nlook at each sunset
\nwe pray for the great one’s
\ncast out of heaven
