To be ignorant
\nas so many of you are
\nI suppose must be
\nsad in fact and so tragic
\nfor each year regrettably
\n700,000 baby calves
\nare born to die
\nmost within 5 days
\ntheir mothers yes are
\nwondering why
\nafter 9 months of carrying
\nand caring for them they
\nwere taken off in just one day
\nmanhandled away
\nthose little babies inquisitive
\nand fresh and on their way
\nthinking of green pastures
\nand each bright new day
\nbut of course the dairy industry
\nwants the milk to sell
\nthe calves are waste
\nand they in fact are consigned to
\nHell Everywhere it happens
\nthis practice is not unique
\nthey are carted off to the abattoir
\nmany very weak
\ntossed around and sworn at
\nprodded and pushed and shoved
\ninto the killing areas
\nthey die there, all unloved
\nvegetarians now drinking milk
\norganic drinkers too and of course
\nyou dairy purchasers are adding to the
\nstew
\nthis vile produce of slaughter and the cruel
\nmanner in which its done
\nreduce your milk consumption, butter and cheese
\nthe fun
\nof being born a dairy calf is lost
\nin so many ways
\ndrinking the milk that belonged to them
\ncreates this sick malaise
\nlisten to those babies
\nas their slaughtered one by one
\ncrying for their mothers
\nwondering what they’ve done<\/p>\n
