We had visited Avebury<\/p>\n
it had been a wet day<\/p>\n
an on our way home<\/p>\n
There \u00a0had been a delay<\/p>\n
the SatNav \u00a0was playing up<\/p>\n
as we drove back<\/p>\n
It told us to leave \u00a0the main road<\/p>\n
to a track<\/p>\n
To \u00a0a road without lights<\/p>\n
a few \u00a0houses on the right<\/p>\n
we drive slowly down there<\/p>\n
into a wet night<\/p>\n
further \u00a0and further<\/p>\n
the road narrowing, and<\/p>\n
on both sides a bog<\/p>\n
and very wet land<\/p>\n
in the middle was grass<\/p>\n
and gradually we<\/p>\n
Got to a field<\/p>\n
we were lost tragically<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
we couldn\u2019t turn around<\/p>\n
we had to reverse<\/p>\n
back all the way<\/p>\n
it was just like \u00a0some curse<\/p>\n
both \u00a0sides \u00a0a bog we had to drive slow<\/p>\n
and straight, \u00a0no mistakes<\/p>\n
Or in the bog we would go.<\/p>\n
it took nearly an hour<\/p>\n
fear took a hold<\/p>\n
it was raining hard<\/p>\n
and very cold<\/p>\n
the bog became wetter<\/p>\n
The fear \u00a0in me too<\/p>\n
made me shake \u00a0a bit<\/p>\n
Wondering what \u00a0i would do<\/p>\n
if I got stuck \u00a0in the bog<\/p>\n
all night in the dark<\/p>\n
possibly sinking<\/p>\n
no place to park<\/p>\n
i carried on slowly<\/p>\n
over an hour<\/p>\n
till I got \u00a0out of the track<\/p>\n
and got back some power<\/p>\n
turned off Sat Nav<\/p>\n
and drove home relieved<\/p>\n
That \u00a0I had got myself out of that<\/p>\n
and relieved<\/p>\n
laid down to sleep<\/p>\n
pleased to be back<\/p>\n
since then<\/p>\n
I have remembered \u00a0that old muddy track<\/p>\n
