Twas 1968 that Peter \u00a0Green composed<\/p>\n
a gem<\/p>\n
inspired by the “Albatross”<\/p>\n
wanting to soar with them<\/p>\n
across the many oceans<\/p>\n
inspired he was to see<\/p>\n
their truly wondrous temperament<\/p>\n
and vast ability<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
it conjured up a melody that<\/p>\n
became a number one<\/p>\n
in 1969 and since<\/p>\n
what they have really done<\/p>\n
the supermarket \u00a0moguls<\/p>\n
borrowed \u00a0the melody<\/p>\n
and \u00a0hung on Peter’s \u00a0genius<\/p>\n
and his \u00a0feeling of flying \u00a0free<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
the sadness is that<\/p>\n
The albatross<\/p>\n
are significantly under threat<\/p>\n
from plastics in the ocean<\/p>\n
and on beaches<\/p>\n
we have let<\/p>\n
too many marketeers create<\/p>\n
masses of this waste<\/p>\n
being eaten by these wondrous \u00a0birds<\/p>\n
Their internal organs graced<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
seriously being put at risk<\/p>\n
And M&S might \u00a0know<\/p>\n
the music chosen to accompany<\/p>\n
Their Aberdeen Angus Beef Burgers \u00a0show<\/p>\n
and previously Thai curry<\/p>\n
is the great bird flying free?<\/p>\n
or dying on some island<\/p>\n
its poor \u00a0gut tragically<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
full of jettisoned plastic waste<\/p>\n
the great bird \u00a0 alas<\/p>\n
Doomed \u00a0for our transgression<\/p>\n
which comes across as crass<\/p>\n
it saddens \u00a0me the \u00a0poet<\/p>\n
to point out and \u00a0confess<\/p>\n
and highlight the poor Albatross<\/p>\n
who is now in some distress.<\/p>\n

Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac<\/p>\n
took on the mantle, they<\/p>\n
Felt the state of wonderment<\/p>\n
the enchantment \u00a0and the way<\/p>\n
music mirrored \u00a0freedom<\/p>\n
Soaring night and day<\/p>\n
As to slaughtering Highland Cattle<\/p>\n
really there is no way<\/p>\n
And \u00a0to sell that poor admission<\/p>\n
with a musical array.<\/p>\n
M&S its saddening<\/p>\n
the onset of death’s we see<\/p>\n
from plastic waste<\/p>\n
