when the eyelids close<\/p>\n
rotten bend i do suppose<\/p>\n
its latent oxygen enriched<\/p>\n
by the animals<\/p>\n
their journeys pitched<\/p>\n
the other \u00a0night past midnight<\/p>\n
a great moon smiled and I<\/p>\n
rounded the bend<\/p>\n
by the \u00a0old folks place<\/p>\n
and an enlightening did descend<\/p>\n
as my lights came on<\/p>\n
two badgers possibly mother and son<\/p>\n
waddled disconcertedly to the \u00a0left of me<\/p>\n
in fun<\/p>\n
i imagined what they were doing<\/p>\n
in unison of gait<\/p>\n
in the golden moonlight<\/p>\n
at a fair \u00a0old rate<\/p>\n
and its gorgeous groves<\/p>\n
at peace in so many ways<\/p>\n
very few humans on the scene<\/p>\n
energy then flows<\/p>\n
raptors deers and witches<\/p>\n
the odd poet perchance<\/p>\n
seeing with his night eye vision<\/p>\n
the invisibles who dance<\/p>\n
unworried by the \u00a0flashlights<\/p>\n
the \u00a0noisy \u00a0engines who<\/p>\n
threaten \u00a0to crush and collide with us<\/p>\n
for that is \u00a0what they do.<\/p>\n
