i just looked up and saw this Sparrow<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
On the Rosemary she sat<\/p>\n
i was writing poetry<\/p>\n
she knew where she was at<\/p>\n
hiding in the cross fronds<\/p>\n
pretending \u00a0not to see<\/p>\n
i was on my i pad writing avidly<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
beyond my window, \u00a0work man<\/p>\n
a cement mixer I heard<\/p>\n
as for the tiny little sparrow<\/p>\n
head cocked she had heard<\/p>\n
all those curious sound bites<\/p>\n
but still looked straight at me<\/p>\n
wondering what filled my day<\/p>\n
a kind of mystery<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
i had given her some seed today<\/p>\n
earlier before<\/p>\n
she actually got to that spot<\/p>\n
and started to explore<\/p>\n
with beaks do birds \u00a0smell<\/p>\n
or with canny eyes do they just<\/p>\n
see<\/p>\n
the seed all glistening on the ground<\/p>\n
Lateral \u00a0thinking possibly<\/p>\n
down she darted scooped some seed<\/p>\n
and back up on a stem<\/p>\n
she did look quite inquisitive<\/p>\n
actually a gem<\/p>\n
she kind of made me realise<\/p>\n
that she was watching me<\/p>\n
Observing all my foibles<\/p>\n
to her jabbering degree.<\/p>\n
