Someones silent \u00a0friend<\/p>\n
was torn and blown with gusto to<\/p>\n
the river \u00a0and then a stormy sea<\/p>\n
a journey had begun<\/p>\n
green still living, leaves and all<\/p>\n
submerged essentially once tall<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
now a piece broken away<\/p>\n
projecting far, \u00a0yes from today<\/p>\n
to foreign climes<\/p>\n
annexed it be<\/p>\n
What would be its inherency<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
connected now to an ocean wide<\/p>\n
really moving with the tide<\/p>\n
a world of difference<\/p>\n
from whence it came<\/p>\n
Part of a tree<\/p>\n
blossoms aflame<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
fighting it way to the canopy<\/p>\n
where the light is right<\/p>\n
and the air is free<\/p>\n
and now in the salty choppy brine<\/p>\n
waves a plenty, a relentless sign<\/p>\n
floating onwards who knows where<\/p>\n
Feeling very \u00a0small<\/p>\n
And lacking care<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
a disunion and some discord<\/p>\n
a shambolic trail with no reward<\/p>\n
windswept windblown<\/p>\n
overlapping<\/p>\n
monotonous<\/p>\n
not caught napping<\/p>\n
assembled forced of life intact<\/p>\n
staying power how to react<\/p>\n
Fading light and brightness comes<\/p>\n
a massive roll on Nature\u2019s drums<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Music in a lilting way<\/p>\n
Softens in an untimely spray<\/p>\n
drifting cataclysmically<\/p>\n
whirl pools flat calm where will we be<\/p>\n
in perhaps a year or three<\/p>\n
thrice around the world<\/p>\n
it seems to me<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Deprived \u00a0of mothers greener sap<\/p>\n
a backdrop from her cherished lap<\/p>\n
the randomness of where we be<\/p>\n
Neither lady luck or the lottery<\/p>\n
Would \u00a0play a part in this voyage<\/p>\n
lets say<\/p>\n
further and further every day<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Becoming smoother<\/p>\n
the constant floating<\/p>\n
Edges cracking<\/p>\n
its worth noting<\/p>\n
almost a year<\/p>\n
has passed since I<\/p>\n
was torn from the tree<\/p>\n

its hard to judge<\/p>\n
the proximity<\/p>\n
of bows of ships<\/p>\n
and the constancy<\/p>\n
of the silver spray<\/p>\n
and the certainty<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n

ten years or more<\/p>\n
what do I see<\/p>\n
smooth round edges<\/p>\n
reasonably<\/p>\n
Ready to whittle<\/p>\n
into some art<\/p>\n
a piece of driftwood<\/p>\n
from the heart<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
