from sense to tribulation<\/p>\n
habitat loss and more<\/p>\n
up against the farmers<\/p>\n
who really have waged war<\/p>\n

water food and habitation<\/p>\n
elephants desire<\/p>\n
their memory holds varied paths<\/p>\n
Brings them closer to the wire<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
the human population<\/p>\n
have lost respect alas<\/p>\n
they dump their cast off\u2019s and their<\/p>\n
rubbish<\/p>\n
anywhere en masse<\/p>\n
a landfill at the jungle apron<\/p>\n
imagine that and see<\/p>\n
mounds of plastic rotting<\/p>\n
modern commonality<\/p>\n
herds resigned to searching<\/p>\n
through the stench of humankind<\/p>\n
offensive and disgusting<\/p>\n
why have we lost our \u00a0mind<\/p>\n
our brashness and audacity<\/p>\n
our shamelessness where we<\/p>\n
alienate existence<\/p>\n
with utter flippancy<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
and so we see the Elephants<\/p>\n
starving so that \u00a0we<\/p>\n
can spread into the jungle<\/p>\n
and dump our shittery<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
contemptuous of reason<\/p>\n
Mean spirited so we<\/p>\n
are hostile to the residents<\/p>\n
the godly souls who be<\/p>\n
suffering true hunger<\/p>\n
and rooting through our waste<\/p>\n
we pay them a disservice<\/p>\n
and stand in line disgraced<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
we cast our evil eye on them<\/p>\n
denounce their right to be<\/p>\n
in and around the forest<\/p>\n
such indignity<\/p>\n
they are thus consuming<\/p>\n
plastic bags and muck<\/p>\n
our heartlessness is growing<\/p>\n
we somehow pass the buck<\/p>\n
blindly miss the obvious<\/p>\n
our \u00a0guiltiness prevailing<\/p>\n
What was \u00a0totally inappropriate<\/p>\n
Is tragically now failing<\/p>\n
those noble souls<\/p>\n
we wilfully disrespect<\/p>\n
and they<\/p>\n
are suffering and they are \u00a0dying<\/p>\n
a price too high to pay<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
it boils down to irreverence<\/p>\n
to having no regard<\/p>\n
holding them in displeasure<\/p>\n
the poor souls clearly scarred<\/p>\n
By ignorance and true neglect<\/p>\n
fault finding all the time<\/p>\n
condemning them to rubbish heaps<\/p>\n
and watching as they climb<\/p>\n
no compunction and no remorse<\/p>\n
Each unrelenting day<\/p>\n
of suffering from wastrels<\/p>\n
who look the other way<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
life for them a punishment<\/p>\n
a scourging flagellation<\/p>\n
a penalty for life itself<\/p>\n
total deprivation<\/p>\n
its hard to watch<\/p>\n
to contemplate<\/p>\n
the heartache that they feel<\/p>\n
struggling from place to place<\/p>\n
Just to \u00a0find a meal<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
religion casts a shadow<\/p>\n
the rituals we can hear<\/p>\n
bells and gongs and incense<\/p>\n
and backsliding fear<\/p>\n
watching from a distance<\/p>\n
the poet feels their pain<\/p>\n
the constant violation<\/p>\n
unhallowed and insane<\/p>\n
