How it struggled to be<\/p>\n
impressive at carrying<\/p>\n
weight actually<\/p>\n
in the hot weather<\/p>\n
up hills it would fight<\/p>\n
the steepest of \u00a0gradient<\/p>\n
Nothing felt right<\/p>\n
whipped if it struggled<\/p>\n
a disunion \u00a0there<\/p>\n
no understanding<\/p>\n
or being aware<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Despite the \u00a0unkindness<\/p>\n
and the disrespect<\/p>\n
the donkey would carry<\/p>\n
and rarely object<\/p>\n
for some mouldy hay<\/p>\n
and a kick now and then<\/p>\n
it was always that way<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
for years this would happen<\/p>\n
the load never small<\/p>\n
Back breaking effort<\/p>\n
tied to the wall<\/p>\n
when not carrying loads<\/p>\n
a life to exert<\/p>\n
whatever the weather<\/p>\n
he just felt like dirt<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
when he got older<\/p>\n
clearly got slow<\/p>\n
and therefore was beaten<\/p>\n
he had lost his glow<\/p>\n
every<\/p>\n
where ached<\/p>\n
just a frenzy of fear<\/p>\n
the donkey was sad<\/p>\n
that was so clear<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
No holiday coming<\/p>\n
a green field somewhere<\/p>\n
to rest and retire<\/p>\n
owners unaware<\/p>\n
Sold \u00a0off to the factory<\/p>\n
led into the barn<\/p>\n
a sledgehammer used<\/p>\n
and a terrible yarn<\/p>\n
to tell of its demise<\/p>\n
its poor head bashed in<\/p>\n
and made into ejiao<\/p>\n
from its tired and chafed skin<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
ejiao the Chinese use old donkey skin<\/p>\n
and our poor Donkey gets it<\/p>\n
he never \u00a0could win<\/p>\n
He worked like the clappers<\/p>\n
a slave night and day<\/p>\n
and was fed very little<\/p>\n
and then \u00a0led away<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
to the ejiao \u00a0a stripping<\/p>\n
a killing its clear<\/p>\n
Working animals \u00a0tragically<\/p>\n
do live life in fear<\/p>\n
humans are rotten<\/p>\n
Right to \u00a0their core<\/p>\n
emotionless \u00a0varmints<\/p>\n
Amazingly free<\/p>\n
of spirit<\/p>\n
of loving<\/p>\n
Of care or belief<\/p>\n
from the beginning<\/p>\n
it bore out such \u00a0grief<\/p>\n
