Its been a year
\nSince China took the Pangolin off the list
\nAnd thus gave them an actual chance to once again
\nTo exist
\nAnd for poachers to desist
\nFrom trapping them from catching them
\nAnd removing their scales
\nThe genus pholidata truthfully
\nIt pales
\nInto so much agony
\nFor what some people do
\nA beautifull little Anteater
\nA victim sadly who
\nIs murdered in their thousands
\nIn China and beyond
\nIn Viet Nam considered
\nWell actually have been conned
\nThe scales are only keratin
\nThe same as our finger nails
\nAbusing a generation
\nTruthfully it pales
\nInto utter ignorance
\nNo curative at all
\nIt proves just how bloody stupid
\nWe are how we break the rule
\nOf murdering and trapping
\nA soul we ought protect
\nTheir diet consists of termites
\nThey harm no one but they
\nAre murdered in their thousands
\nEvery single day<\/p>\n
There are rangers in South Africa
\nTrying very hard
\nTo save them, to protect them
\nNocturnally they guard
\nTheir proteges now daily
\nAnd with China trying too
\nOne hopes the little Pangolin
\nCan be saved
\nAnd I take the view
\nBack in the days gone by alas it was supposedly for a poor circulation

\nBased around pure arrogance

The Africans have less regard
\nFrom their gifted animal friends
\nIts the same with bones from the jungle king
\nThe trade is where it ends
\nNo curative value
\nJust blackmarket hoodlums who
\nAre making fast bucks everyday
\nOn something thats untrue<\/p>\n
A gin has now been brewed we hear
\nPangolin Gin the hope
\nTo get more people thinking
\nAbout Pangolins, the hope
\nThat the evil pitiless ignorant
\nWill look into their plight
\nAnd safeguard their existence
\nAnd prove that I am right<\/p>\n
We all should thank the creator
\nFor gifting this sweet soul
\nTreat each one with gratitude
\nRealise its role
\nOn earth is one of living
