Free ranging happy chickens
\nDo you get it
\nWhat do you see
\nGreen pastures full of naturalness
\nFresh air and liberty
\nThats what the Happy Egg folk say
\nChuckling birds so prime
\nPecking picking flourishing
\nHappy with their time
\nEgg eaters are taken
\nBy the naturalness they see
\nIts the green grass and the wild flowers
\nConjured up and free
\nHealthful and salubrious
\nNutritious through and through
\nFree ranging birds are happy
\nThats everybodys view<\/p>\n
But actually the camera
\nSees differences I hear
\nFar from just free ranging
\nAnother tale is clear
\nA kind of vile regression
\nDefilement everywhere
\nDirty dark dire dreary sheds
\nA place of such despair
\nHappiness in tatters
\nFeatherless birds heads down
\nBeaks are mutilated
\nAnd deformed their so called happy crown
\nMouldering and moth eaten
\nWhere ones eyes can see
\nA suppurating fester
\nDegraded awfully<\/p>\n
A curse a scourge a ruin
\nPerilousness and death
\nAnything but happy
\nIn the darkness stress
\nAnd terrible frustration
\nTottering, shakey souls
\nSuffering like crazy
\nClearly without goals
\nA maelstrom of existence
\nA crosscurrent of fear
\nInertness and stagnation
\nEverywhere its clear
\nLethargy and indolence
\nNeglected one can see
\nThe stench of the ammonia
\nIts choking actually<\/p>\n
The outside section
\nA bare field
\nHardly a natural scene
\nThere is no recuperation
\nIts more a spacial mean
\nCombative and war like
\nNot something that was known
\nIn terms of happy free range
\nA fruitless listless day
\nJust a continual struggle
\nThe nest boxes I\u2019d say
\nWhere dead hens were seen rotting
\nWhere maggots took their time
\nLaying eggs here in the stinky
\nMisery and slime
\nIll-fated and unlucky
\nHapless and forlorn
\nTo actually call them happy
\nTo imagine that fresh Dawn
\nOf awakening, of happiness, of sunlight
\nEverywhere
\nAll born under an evil star
\nA Calamitous despair
\nKeen to buy these eggs imagining
\nThe happiness they said
\nPaying extra for them
\nI know most will see red
\nAs to how they have been treated
\nIn dire straits afterall
\nThat pound of flesh they are taking
\nWould drive folks up the wall.<\/p>\n
Just a bunch of liars
\nThe inflexibility
\nCallous not deserving
\nAnything from me
\nAustere and spartan areas
\nTyrannous and wrong
\nPrisoners in bondage
\nThey just do not belong
\nIn squalor and deterioration
\nLike vagrants everyone
\nImprisoned in the dankness
\nUnable to feel the sun
\nRagged with depression
\nPaupers everyone
\nA penny pinching management
\nWhen the day is done<\/p>\n
Their uncharitable conclusion
\nScrimping scraping stinginess
\nCovetous and profit mad
\nPennywise and miserly
\nWhat I see here makes me sad
\nThe ammonia fIlled lungs of mine
\nAching with despair
\nClearly sharing what those hens feel
\nFighting for clean air
\nSuffering a detachment
\nFrom life on earth today
\nHappy chickens happy eggs
\nJust happy to lay
\nGreat value and good reason
\nFor customers to pay
\nBut the harshness and the Roughness
\nTakes all that away<\/p>\n
Paying for unpleasantness
\nLoathsomeness and pain
\nThe bitter pill the gall
\nThe wormwood the disdain
\nTearful aching females
\nTortured as they are
\nBleeding mournful victims
\nWhere existence became a scar
\nThat ached and itched and putrified
\nTheir wailing no one heard
\nAfterall these females
\nThey were just another bird
\nBlubbering and whimpering
\nRed eyes every day
\nWoebegone and doleful
\nIn their tear jerking display<\/p>\n
