Once upon a time
\nSouth Africa was famed
\nFor Peaches Pears and Apricots
\nPineapples rich and sweet
\nMelons Ginger wondrous conserves
\nTruly hard to beat
\nA positive respect for farming
\nOn goodly fertile earth
\nProducing exceptional produce
\nExports of great worth<\/p>\n
Times change of course
\nAnd farmers saw less respectful times
\nPolitics brought into play
\nNot so many rhymes or reasons
\nTo be growing
\nThe trade died for a while
\nAnd switched over to the harvesting
\nlions yea off the dial
\nOne of the big five
\nThe great King of the Beasts
\nBreeding them and caging them
\nArtificial feasts
\nOf lots of frozen chickens
\nBoiled no wild game, they
\nFound their families split up
\nAnd the babies taken away<\/p>\n
Naive volunteers employed
\nImported from near and far
\nTo look after the babies
\nCuddle them, they are
\nNurtured by these youngsters
\nWho fail to see that they
\nAre being used and so abused
\nAll along the way<\/p>\n
The grown up Lions caged
\nReady
\nFor the foreigners with guns
\nThe so called hunters
\nBeing hoodwinked
\nOh yes tons and tons
\nOf would be trophy hunters
\nAnd canned hunters as well
\nBagging Lions witH little time to spare
\nIt is pure hell<\/p>\n
Conning would be business people
\nWith caged up drugged up souls
\nNothing wild about them subjected to controls
\nOf feeding life and death as well
\nThe business in full swing
\nExcellent margins all unnatural
\nAnd of course does bring
\nProfits into being
\nTaxidermy too
\nHunters buy a package
\nAnd kill members of the zoo<\/p>\n
Trophies sent back home
\nTo where the so called hunters live
\nThey can brag to friends there
\nTheir ego\u2019s they can give
\nA pumping up impression
\nAs the bones go to the East
\nTo Vietnam for Tiger Cake
\nTCM the beast<\/p>\n
Tiger cake no tiger though
\nLion bones just the same
\nMixed up with local Monkeys
\nAnd Tortoise shell
\nThe claim
\nOf course that it is Tiger cake
\nThe wildness shining through
\nWhen in point of fact
\nIt all artificial
\nLions kept in a zoo<\/p>\n

\nIts false its criminality
\nThe wondrous land
\nIs so abused and the Lions too

\nWild Lions not a lot of them
\nCaged lions loads and loads
\nThe Trophy hunting foreign creeps
\nLittering the roads<\/p>\n
An Boris and his fair lady
\nAre asked to have a think
\nlions are being sacrificed
\nAnd are on the brink
\nOf dying out the business
\nThe criminality
\nOf canned hunting and trophies
\nMust be banned effectively<\/p>\n
Stop this vile disdainful stuff
\nDespised by those who care
\nClearly they lack principle
\nAnd must be more aware
\nThe trophy hunting infidels
\nMust be banned for they
\nAre adding to the market place
\nWhich cannot be the way<\/p>\n
So many too refuse to recant

\nUntil all Wild Lions are gone
\nNo regrets and no remorse

We call on Mr Boris and his lady fair
\nTo stop this awful nonsense
\nAt least to be aware
\nOf what is truly cruelty
