A darling little puppy
\nsits in the window
\naching
\nhis little eyes
\nare caked up
\nsome discharge
\nhis heart is breaking<\/p>\n
his mother she could
\nnow be just anywhere
\nfor he
\nwas stolen from
\nher warm embrace
\nand he cries
\nincessantly<\/p>\n
she was a glorious mother
\nher warmth was his
\ndesire
\nbut she was so
\nman handled
\nby the so called
\nbreeder guy<\/p>\n
a horrid, smelly, nasty
\nbit of work
\nthat slob and he
\nnever cleaned us out
\nand fed us terribly<\/p>\n
he swore a lot
\nhe argued with some
\nhuman that was there
\nin fact he beat
\nher sometimes
\nshe seemed so unaware<\/p>\n
of us
\nbut now I’m all alone
\ndoleful I’m so sad
\nits draughty here
\nI wish that I could die
\nthings are so bad<\/p>\n
the pet shop girl
\nI heard her ask
\nwhy were my eyes all wet
\nthe sodding hound is sickening
\nfor something
\nthe price I set<\/p>\n
I may have to
\njust put him down
\nif he doesn’t sell
\nthe pet shop girl
\nsaid could she have me
\nno
\nbest have one that’s well<\/p>\n
no one wants the trouble
\nof a sick dog in their face
\nif it doesn’t sell today
\nit will go to the place
\nwhere all sad dogs are put
\nand its not heaven that’s for sure
\nits in a sack then in a bin
\nyes lost for evermore<\/p>\n
too many souls are brought
\ninto a human world of mess
\nof pain and of such anger
\nand cumulative stress
\nsome get to go to centres
\nand sanctuaries but most
\nend up in doggy heaven
