I am now out in the back yard
\nMy puppies are all gone
\nThe humans that abandoned me
\nIt was a giant con
\nThey abused me And then sold my pups
\nAnd left me in the wild
\nBut now I am in a safer place
\nLearning like a child<\/p>\n
I do love Peanut butter
\nBut as for a leash, for me
\nI hate the thing around my neck
\nAfter being free
\nAll that time and coming back
\nAnd finding out that I
\nHave to wear a leash again
\nIt makes me want to cry<\/p>\n
I know they are being kind to me
\nThey rescued me and I
\nAm in a place where I love to be
\nNo reason to ask why
\nI need to walk upon a leash
\nThats what the humans think
\nIt safer walking out with them
\nBut it tAkes me to the brink<\/p>\n
I have an open kennel
\nAnd they sit with me each day
\nI even met Matheew Daughters
\nWho came from far away
\nEveryone is taking time
\nTo help me just get by
\nTo walk with people on a leash
\nAnd understand now why<\/p>\n
I know that all of them are good
\nThey all are shining lights
\nThey have taken me in
\nAnd are helping me
\nI am not losing my rights
\nI am building up my confidence
\nA lady needs to be
\nProtected from the other dogs
\nAnd the immodesty
\nI guess that will the passing of time
\nI will get to be
\nMore modest and more dignified
\nAnd work with them to see<\/p>\n
A sublimity of purpose
\nThe leash a safety thong
\nCloser to my master
\nWhere things cannot go wrong
\nIts their consideration
\nTheir reverence their awe
\nBy being closer to them
\nI will be regarded more<\/p>\n
Other dogs and traffic
\nIt is a dangerous world
\nThat inner voice inside of me
\nTells me I have been hurled
\nBack into humanity
\nWhere criminality
\nExists and where abandonment
\nAnd excessive cruelty<\/p>\n
Exists and if I tow the line
\nAnd remain close I might
\nGradually be a family member
\nAnd then be in at night
\nWhen we go out in the car
\nThe leash will be my thing
\nThere will be no abandonment
\nIts just something they will bring<\/p>\n
A token of affection
\nOf guaranteeing we
\nAlways stay together
\nNo more adversity
\nWith time I will do what they ask
\nSoon will be alright
\nMama one and mama two
