{"id":49994,"date":"2021-02-14T01:35:09","date_gmt":"2021-02-14T01:35:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/?p=49994"},"modified":"2021-02-14T01:35:09","modified_gmt":"2021-02-14T01:35:09","slug":"hunters-on-horse-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cooksdelight.co.uk\/blog\/2021\/02\/hunters-on-horse-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Hunters on horse back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Throwbacks from a former age<br \/>\nWith a loathing of the now<br \/>\nMost hold ancient grudges<br \/>\nThe loathsomeness of how<br \/>\nOdious and obnoxious<br \/>\nThey snap they snarl they growl<br \/>\nWe are the lower orders<br \/>\nThe dregs seen as most foul<br \/>\nWhen they wear their hunting clothes<br \/>\nAnd ride their  horse to hunt<br \/>\nThe battle cry is evident<br \/>\nTheir guards are back and front<br \/>\nThe enemy is the wild one<br \/>\nThe varlet rascal who<br \/>\nRuns rings around the gentry<br \/>\nThe stinking rat faced true<\/p>\n<p>Under a medieval spell<br \/>\nA crone of long before<br \/>\nTook a red haired princess<br \/>\nA wicked deed of war<br \/>\nConvicted but had got away<br \/>\nAnd found a country earth<br \/>\nAtoning for his crimes tis said<br \/>\nWherein he found great worth<br \/>\nIn able to shape shift tis said<br \/>\nAnd on the famous hunts<br \/>\nWould startle horse and rider<br \/>\nAnd rather guilty stunts<\/p>\n<p>The nobility had everything<br \/>\nAnd often to excess<br \/>\nThe wild  folk of the forest glades<br \/>\nThus gained their success<br \/>\nThey were of godly standing<br \/>\nAnubis knew them well<br \/>\nA kind of  hero character<br \/>\nReceived by most as swell<br \/>\nProtected by the farm hands<br \/>\nAnd by cottagers who grew<br \/>\nTheir own fruit in the orchards<br \/>\nAnd also their home brew<\/p>\n<p>Too many well to do folks<br \/>\nThese days seemingly<br \/>\nHave listened too much  to the<br \/>\nOld books and the hostelry<br \/>\nThe game keepers<br \/>\nThe farmers<br \/>\nThose with chicken coops<br \/>\nAnd many chase the crimson brush<br \/>\nWith all their brainwashed troops<\/p>\n<p>The councillors the magistrates<br \/>\nThe land owners those who<br \/>\nLike to wear their hunting gear<br \/>\nAnd look down on folk<br \/>\nThey do<br \/>\nseen as lowly ruffians<br \/>\nThe riff raff which is true<br \/>\nTo this day many  a copper<br \/>\nOr some frightfully pompous sod<br \/>\nWill ride up front  and command respect<br \/>\nA typical well heeled knob<\/p>\n<p>Whips his horse and will kick a hound<br \/>\nShouts expletive at the sabs<br \/>\nRides his horse into  them<br \/>\nTheir camera\u2019s yea he grabs<br \/>\nTrail hunting the great big joke<br \/>\nA cloth soaked in fox pee<br \/>\nDragged behind one of the mares<br \/>\nReally just to see<\/p>\n<p>If they scare a wild boy<br \/>\nOut of his earth and run<br \/>\nIt\u2019ll then be an accident<br \/>\nWhen the day is done<br \/>\nA red soul chewed up by  twenty hounds<br \/>\nIts guts all ore the ground<br \/>\nThe stench of vixen torn to bits<br \/>\nIn what is that delightful sound<\/p>\n<p>It plays havoc with Reynard<br \/>\nKnowing his gal is gone<br \/>\nHe recounts the spell she was  under<br \/>\nA factor now upon<br \/>\nEach dog who feels vibrations<br \/>\nThe forest wailing cries<br \/>\nWhich strengthens all new families<br \/>\nWhich the huntsman realise<\/p>\n<p>The sabs are the new angels<br \/>\nWho know the loophole crowd<br \/>\nWho police the violent hunters<br \/>\nTheir improbity is loud<br \/>\nOften missed by people<br \/>\nBut not the sabs for they<br \/>\nTake on  the role of security<br \/>\nFor the foxes of the day<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Throwbacks from a former age With a loathing of the now Most hold ancient grudges The loathsomeness of how Odious and obnoxious They snap they snarl they growl We are the lower orders The dregs seen as most foul When &hellip;
