We must never forget the bushmen
\nThe kalahari san
\nGatherers their miracles
\nOf what the gods have done
\nIn the inhospitable desert
\nA nation struggles on
\nAn upright Indigenous People
\nWith the constancy upon
\nEvery inch of their lives
\nFrom firelight talks
\nTo how
\nthey hunt and gather
\nIntelligently
\nFrom long ago until now<\/p>\n
Oil and gas will cripple
\nThe drills and trucks they will
\nFrighten off the animals
\nEverywhere will spill
\nWith pollutants or that sickly crude
\nWith noise and improbity
\nThe thunder and the explosive forces
\nThe instability.<\/p>\n
We cannot let this happen
\nTheir noble feeling are
\nWorth All the gold in Africa
\nSurely to go far
\nLess of an importance
\nThan the Bushmen of the sun
\nWho walk the desert dunes and breathe
\nThe wonders they have spun<\/p>\n
The scorn we feel as Africa
\nLets Texas come to town
\nThe Okavanga delta it, cannot go down
\nSo much is going for it
\nA bustle of the true.
\nTheir ancientness personified
\nIts all that they can do<\/p>\n
To really protect and unify
\nTheir admiration for
\nThe desert that they work with and
\nFrom there they are sure
\nThis is godly given
\nTheir duty is to be
\nHaving allegiance to every living soul
\nThat they can see<\/p>\n
We must remember the Bushmen
\nNever let them down
\nFight for them forever
\nIn the desert drown
\nOur senses and our vigour
\nBut never let them be
\nBroken down and starving
\nThat would just be infamy<\/p>\n
