Its been two days since the snow fell
\nThe rooves still showing signs
\nThe pavements too are icy
\nIf the old sun shines
\nIt melts the snow a little
\nThe roads are a slushy mess
\nThe gardens though retain a cloak
\nWhere the green Spring bulbs confess
\nTo Pushing through the frozen earth
\nAnd up into the snow
\nLincoln green and aquamarine
\nTheir life force now on show
\nGreat energy, resistance
\nThe fresh shoots perfect green
\nLife in all its spectacular form
\nBrightening the scene
\nThe trees are bare the snows not there
\nThe Beech a lacy flair
\nThe Cherry still retains some leaves
\nTattered and hanging there
\nMarcescence an abscission process
\nDeciduous trees retain
\nTheir leaves right through the Winter
\nMaintaining a chain
\nIts very cold I am shivering
\nImagine the wild souls
\nSheltered somewhere snuggled up
\nIn their chafing
\nWintry holes
\nPuffing up their feathers
\nOr pushing deeper they
\nUncomfortable together
\nIn their stupor of dismay.<\/p>\n
Body heat out of the wind
\nAnd inclementness
\nThe harsh severe encroaching
\nRaw and bitter stress
\nHuddled in some shelter
\nAwaiting the Dawn
\nhopeful of a bounteous Sun
\nAnd the warm breath of a Fawn
\nA visit to a feeder
\nFat balls and the like
\nThe joyfulness and ecstasy
