I don\u2019t live in Australia
\nBut have travelled there
\nAnd know
\nThe extent of the great Continent
\nAnd its ebb and flow
\nFrom Perth down to Adelaide
\nAnd up to Darwin, I
\nThen across to Cairns and down to Brisbane
\nWhich is why
\nI understand a little
\nAnd care an awful lot
\nAnd really love the wild souls
\nThat the countryside has got
\nAll The Roo\u2019s and the Koala\u2019s
\nThe Camels and the Deer
\nThe Dingo\u2019s and the Brumbies
\nAnd the pigs and Goats
\nIts clear
\nThe wildness brings its problems
\nAnd the settlements do too
\nBut re-homing Brumbies
\nReally its a kinder thing to do<\/p>\n
Trapping them and culling them
\nOr murdering them by air
\nThe quick fix its so awful
\nInhumane it tends to scare
\nThe living daylights out of me
\nYour insensitivity
\nThese God given souls
\nHave made their home
\nAnd its where they love to be
\nSeeing foals beside dead mothers
\nReally makes me feel
\nConsciousness Australia
\nYour decisions were they real
\nYou call it aerial culling
\nIts killing slaughterously
\nFor Brumby lovers exposes nerves
\nSuch insensitivity<\/p>\n
That mindset get the marksmen
\nIn helicopters who
\nSit there, murdering animals
\nFor them its what they do
\nSometimes missing targets
\nInjuring a few
\nThe suffering is awful
\nAnd what do the foals do
\nThose who make decisions
\nOf this nature, clearly they
\nAre hard of heart
\nAnd sick of soul
\nAnd feel that its a way
\nOf eliminating problems
\nOf killing for its sake
\nForgetting the miracle of life
\nSeemingly not awake<\/p>\n
The cruelty is so immense
\nAs sentients we feel
\nProbably more than the shooters
\nAll are Wild and real
\nAustralia you make decisions
\nAbout the iconic souls
\nAnd seeing the pictures
\nAnd feeling their pain
\nWe are far removed from trolls
\nWe care about wild animals
\nGifted to countries who
\nWould rather see the back of them
\nMany it seems now do
\nHabitat loss for wild ones
\nWith human encroachment we
\nSee conflict for it changes minds
\nAnd creates adversity<\/p>\n
Hunters like the killing aspect
\nBut the majority
\nValue wild life its God\u2019s gift
\nIts how it has to be
\nIts an education
\nAnd calls for integrity
\nOf understanding wild lives matter
\nAnd their constancy
\nBrings us new environments
\nAn ever changing way
\nAn attitude of sharing
\nA principled display
\nNature and its countenance
\nIts reverential soul
\nThe details in the being
\nBounden to control<\/p>\n
I stand four square
\nWith wildness
\nAnd make my mark on earth
\nEvery single animal
\nComes and brings its worth
\nhumanity is needful
\nConsciousness is to
\nHelping our great mother
