She is living in the Rosemary
\nDeep in the woody strands
\nA diminutive so tiny
\nAnd she has no hands
\nImagine that just tiny feet
\nAnd feathers that is all
\nApart from the uropygial oil
\ninsulation she\u2019s no fool
\nAnd waterproofing
\nGodly stuff
\nManaging the cold
\nAll the water freezing
\nAnd goodness knows how old
\nIn the early starkness
\nNo shelter really there
\nA hostile bough
\nOne wonders how
\nThey manage the cold air
\nThe icicles and hoar frosts
\nWhich is why I feed
\nAll the little birdies
\nWith various types of seed
\nAnd fat balls with some insects
\nAnd a seed mixture too
\nI feed peanuts from my study window
\nThat know what to do
\nSuch meagreness all undersized
\nFlitting here and there
\nThe winter feathered beings
