Thinking of souls this gentleman
\nWild as the afternoon sun
\nAn elephant of stature
\nWhose shadow clearly won
\nRespect of other wild souls
\nA regent in his way
\nDeliberate and experienced
\nIn his movement through each day
\nExacerbated with fences
\nPlaying with his stress
\nHis lamentation few could hear
\nHis patience sadly less
\nGoodwill was not apparent
\nToo many hunters there
\nThreatening his existence
\nAnd increasing his despair<\/p>\n
Water was his true desire
\nHis established paths were barred
\nThe frustrated of these humans
\nThe unforgiving stars
\nWith scant respect for elephants
\nComplaining all the while
\nWhistles spears and shouting
\nBeing seen as vile
\nNo concept of approval
\nThey call him by the name
\nOf \u201criff raff\u201dcommonality
\nA nuisance and a shame<\/p>\n
Insensitive to decency
\nAnd true morality
\nA real lack of realisation
\nOf how things ought to be
\nWhy not see him as an elder
\nJudge him on his size
\nNot condemn him for his pathways
\nBased on futile lies<\/p>\n
Limpopo and the government
\nDecided, that he
\nReally was a hopeless case
\nA nuisance, actually
\nAncestral tracks
\nAnd water holes
\nIf made through farmers lands
\nThe constancy of fences

Leaves the mature mind set
