\nDoth thrive
\nIt Loves its alkalinity
\nEmerging from the leaves
\nthat litter in October
\nWhere sometimes it achieves<\/p>\n
A small group
\nBut as a solitary
\nWith a liking for the shade
\nQuite a Secretive lassie
\nUnder a Beech glade<\/p>\n
Pattened white or
\nSilver grey
\nOn a background that is brown
\nFound all over Europe
\nWith Her mothy
\nsmelling gown<\/p>\n
Maturing into a black melt
\nThats why she\u2019s happened by
\nThe name of magpie ink cap
\nAnd that is where we spy
\nTrying to be invisible
\nEthereal its sense
\nOf being is all seeing
\nGiving rise to some suspense<\/p>\n
Artful in her substance
\nAn illusion maybe so
\nThe keen eye of a woodsman
\nMight look for it below
\nThe smooth trunk now seen rising
\nOut into the grey
\nCraggy sky of Autumn
