\nWe turn our backs on Nature

That gargantuan roar
\nThat rocks the night
\nSending shivers down the spine
\nThese so called rotten sanctuaries
\nWhere everything\u2019s divine
\nCubs are born and taken away
\nAnd cows milk delivered fast
\nThe cub so needs it\u2019s mother
\nIt\u2019s A story of the past<\/p>\n
Lines and lines of cages
\nMany souls in each
\nFighting for their supper
\nYou can feel the reach

\nAnd makes a lot of dosh

\nBreeding is the way
\nBut genetically they are feeble
\nOn any given day<\/p>\n
The safari club and others
\nVenture forth and will
\nPick a brochure and a package
\nAnd quite a few will kill
\n10 to 13 animals
\nAnd all of them guaranteed
\nAnd they call it conservation
\nIt\u2019s The story that they feed<\/p>\n
The red earth of South Africa
\nDrenched in tame lions blood
\nLand and fences Add the permit
\nThen you will see a flood
\nOf babies And then volunteers
\nImproving their karmic trail
\nEnbroiled in illegality
\nAnd all beyond the pale<\/p>\n
And the government turns its blind eye
\nAway from thinking much
\nThey see the money rolling in
\nAnd It gets them in the crutch
\nIt draws the wealth of Europe
\nAnd the USA
\nClamouring for trophies
\nThey can come and take away<\/p>\n
And there are a lot of farmers
\nArmed up to the hilt
\nThey will see off the \u201cgreenies\u201c
\nWho they think will always wilt
\nUnder fire and anger
\nBasically they run
\nThem off the land and rapidly
\nJust by loading their gun<\/p>\n
Producing sub standard Lions
\nGenetically so weak
\nAt this rate will not inherit
\nNeither will they seek
\nThe high ground that\u2019s for certain
\nFor the hunters they just pay
\nAnd The animals are murdered
\nIn the most obnoxious way<\/p>\n
And South Africa allows it
\nA rebellion that is cursed
\nIt\u2019s offensive and indictable
\nReally it\u2019s the worst
\nThat the King of beasts could undergo
\nFor they
\nAre losing out to hunters
\nEvery single day<\/p>\n
And the farmers are transgressors
\nFor the TCM we know
\nThe bones require a wildness
\nFor the efficacy to grow
\nCaged Lions being tortured
\nBastardised and left
\nBecome black market contraband
\nIn essence are bereft<\/p>\n
Of all the special qualities
\nOf wildness and beyond
\nWhich Chinese traditional medicine
\nRegarded as their bond
\nand so it\u2019s manipulation
\nTragically going on
\nWhere everyone is suffering
\nIt\u2019s really one big con<\/p>\n
The volunteers pay handsomely
\nTo nurture for conservation
\nBut actually are left
\nWith elements of ingratiation
\nHoly than thou they are not
\nCollaborators they
\nFailing in the brownie points
\nHeads down they creep away<\/p>\n
The farmers take advantage
\nOf weak laws that all lead
\nTo a bum sucking bootlicking Trade
\nThat really does succeed
\nThe great Kings are the victims
\nTheir jungle is no more
\nThey are manipulated
\nEveryone part of a war<\/p>\n
Of attrition without remission
\nCubs taken away
\nFed on shop bought cows milk
\nWeaker by the day
\nGenetically subservient
\nWeakening they be
\nThere are more Lions in these horrific camps
\nTheir life of enmity<\/p>\n
And there isn\u2019t love nor caring
\nThey are bred to shoot and die
\nTo make them into trophies
\nAnd their bones
\nTo ship or fly
\nThe farmers once grew oranges
\nBut now fortunes they make
\nDisaffected and disloyal
\nAnd in essence wholly fake<\/p>\n
The roar is more an utterance
\nA general grieving for
\nWildness and the status
\nWhich encouraged Natural Law
\nTo be the predator prey creation
\nGodly and on point
\nBut now it\u2019s cruel and crooked
\nEvery nose is out of joint<\/p>\n
Blood Lions see their blood lines
\nNow frittered away
\nThey are Not the Kings alas
\nJust weakly souls that lay
\nThe highest price now ever
\nVictims one and all
\nRaped tortured and murdered
\nWhere malevolence does rule<\/p>\n
And the Chinese they are losing out
\nFor Wild Tiger bone is replaced
\nWith weakly caged up Lion bones
\nThe efficacy replaced
\nBy fraudulence and imprecation
\nAnd what is totally
\nAt odds with TCM in fact
\nAnd thus should never be<\/p>\n
There is no wildness anymore
\nNo spirit and no soul
\nWhat they get is caged Lion Bones
\nMonkey and some more
\nTurtle shells ground up and mixed
\nInto a cake where we
\nSee not a hint of wild Tiger
\nJust criminality<\/p>\n
Just the worst intentions
\nMalignancy and more
\nSouth Africa can bow its head
\nFor its Hunters are at war
