This appeal is to TOURISTS
\nYou are the ones
\nWho go out to Thailand
\nYour daughters and sons
\nExpecting to gain sight
\nOf Elephants there
\nTo ride On their backs
\nAnd you don\u2019t even care<\/p>\n
That by riding on their backs
\nYou injure them so
\nThe circus the festivals
\nRefuse to go
\nPainting and washing
\nSee them in chains
\nFrightened of noise
\nOf fire
\nIt so pains<\/p>\n
These wonderful souls
\nTrafficked around
\nSubjected to PHAJAAN
\nTorture does abound
\nBreaking their spirit
\nSo people like you
\nCan ride on their backs
\nYou know that it\u2019s true<\/p>\n
Families split up
\nBabies then lost
\nNo mothers milk
\nAnd at a huge cost
\nTo the long term survival
\nOf elephants who
\nNeed their mothers milk
\nUnlike most of you<\/p>\n
Fed on cows products
\nThat do make us fear
\nLong term we need human milk
\nThat much is clear
\nBREAST feeding babies really do well
\nCow fed babies not so
\nSo it is important
\nNow when you go<\/p>\n
The entertainment
\nAnd religious pursuits
\nBoycott them widely
\nIt\u2019s at their roots
\nThe pachyderm souls
\nCan not cope with the noise
\nWith the fire and the brimstone
\nCancelling their joys<\/p>\n
Animals rights require
\nYour respect
\nElephants, watch them
\nBut see they are checked
\nDon\u2019t wallow In torture
\nTo the ignorant who
\nAre making a living
\nBy disrespect it\u2019s true<\/p>\n
If you are going to Thailand
\nRespect them don\u2019t go
\nWhere they are painting or washing
\nOf part of some show
\nAnd if I see you up on their backs
\nWhat I do
\nIs get out my camera
\nAnd photograph you<\/p>\n
And put it in the newspaper
