An imperfect cadence
\nSurrounds
\nOur whole being
\nThe chattering heard
\nIn the rumbles of time
\nWe wander the countryside
\nTaking in everything
\nLifting our souls
\nAnd feeling each crime
\nCommitted around us
\nWhere humans are present
\nThe turmoil the bedlam
\nWhat we see what we hear
\nOur memory harkens back
\nTo our childhood
\nSo many long gone
\nIn crescendo\u2019s of fear<\/p>\n
What I see is alarming
\nIn the light of each day
\nMore and more people
\nComing this way
\nAs big as we are
\nAnd as mindful in fAct
\nOur future feels grim
\nAs to how to react<\/p>\n
A pachyderms spirit
\nIs held in reserve
\nOur outlook on life
\nHas begun to unnerve
\nEvery waking moment
\nWherever we be
\nWe seem closer to humans
\nAnd logically<\/p>\n
That is unsettling
\nFrom what we know
\nWe are resented
\nWherever we go
\nToo many look
\nAt our tusks
\nAnd we feel
\nA much greater threat
\nAnd we know that it\u2019s real<\/p>\n
There is ghoulish intent
\nAnd now on my own
\nWith what I have seen
\nAnd the things that are known
\nToo many foreigners
\nCarrying guns
\nIn their camouflage clothes
\nTheir inanity stuns<\/p>\n
Look into my eyes
\nAs I look out at yours
\nSomewhat deliberative
\nFor the great cause
\nOf ancestral prominence
\nA lasting belief
\nMusing daydreaming
