Human beings ignorantly
\nConsider sheep to be
\nInsensitive and stupid
\nBut in reality
\nSheep are extra sensitive
\nAnd so very aware
\nEmotional and endearing
\nHerd animals who share
\nA sense of responsibility
\nAnd an attitude, they do
\nAnd A need to be respected
\nWhich nobody thinks is true
\nThe sadness and the tragedy
\nIs that commercially they be
\nVictims of the arrogant
\nFarmers that I see<\/p>\n
Out in Patagonia
\nIn Chubut and Santa Cruz
\nMerino sheep are Kept For wool
\nAnd it\u2019s tragic news
\nTheir coats are fine and dandy
\nand appreciated by
\nHuman beings who buy the wool
\nAnd believe just every lie
\nNothing is further from the truth
\nIt\u2019s bedlam all the way
\nWith ignorance and arrogance
\nAnd frustration yes they pay
\nAn Awful price for being
\nIn stations far away
\nOut of sight of caring eyes
\nEvery single day<\/p>\n
These stations are ungenerous
\nAcquisitive and wrong
\nThey Tend to all cut corners
\nThese animals don\u2019t belong
\nWithin such evil practices
\nSoundings every day
\nTheir genitals Tied up so Tight
\nthey wither and drop off
\nThe fight
\nInside themselves when suffering so
\nAnd No painkiller nothing to show
\nOnly humans feel pain here
\nThe sheep can weep that much is clear<\/p>\n
When shorn mulesing
\ntakes place that\u2019s when
\nThe skin is torn
\nThese kind of men
\nDue to piece work rates of pay
\nIt leads to accidents
\nIt\u2019s not the way
\nWages should
\nbe calculated
\nIt\u2019s far from good
\nIts complicated
\nSerious wounding
\nBleeding sores
\nThese poor souls
\nThey Go through the wars
\nIt\u2019s not their fault
\nAnd they suffer so
\nAnd often no one wants to know
\nNo vet to see
\nAnd in the heat
\nInfections really can
\nUnseat

\nSome are Shorn with broken limbs
\nVictims of a shearers rage
\nSacrificed and body slammed

\nQuarrelling and bickering
\nThe staff At it all day
\nIt\u2019s vile and it\u2019s unfortunate
\nThat sensitive souls must pay <\/p>\n
Expletives every which way
\nPunched and kicked at will
\nSome shearers get all stroppy
\nAnd victims they might kill
\nAnd then just used for dinner
\nIt happens and it\u2019s not fair
\nThese are living breathing souls
\nAnd we all need to care
\nHuman beings everywhere
\nCall dumbed down people sheeple
\nBut that\u2019s because they are asinine
\nSenselessly inane
\nHalf of them are inadequate
\nAnd really in the main
\nThey totally misunderstand
\nThat sheep intelligently
\nLive their complex lives
\nIn herds with eccentricity<\/p>\n
As for handlers animals
\nFeel pain as we all do
\nWho likes to be beaten up
\nOr shouted at
\nDo you?
\nSo why can\u2019t we respect them
\nAnd realise that they
\nEach Have personalities
\nAnd why should they have to pay
\nSo we can have a jumper
\nA woolly dress or two
\nWhy do they have to suffer torture
\nManhandled yes all through
\nAnd if there is an injury
\nDoing the right thing
\nSurely is the best way forward
\nSo as to really bring
\nAs least long bouts of suffering
\nFor laid up sheep to rest
\nAnd not suffer an infection
\nWhich After all could test
\nTheir immunity and their long term health
\nFor infections they can spread
\nThe wool trade is a killing trade
\nand lots can wind up dead<\/p>\n
A reason just to eat them
\nInconsiderate of life
\nOf the gift that god gave all of us
\nIntervals where strife
\nIn minimised and treated
\nWith kindness and with care
\nThe problem with commercial animals
\nIs that it\u2019s unlikely people share<\/p>\n
Well it\u2019s not the way
\nThere\u2019s no excuse for animals abuse
\nBut we see really loads of frightened sheep
\nSuffering they be
\nThere are some 15 Million sheep
\nMarino\u2019s all for wool
\nSold to Patagonia the clothes firm
\nWho are full<\/p>\n
With jumpers and pullovers
\nThe angels in the field
\nSlammed about and ready
\nTo be part of the yield
\nSuffering in all sorts of ways
\nAnd then to have ones throat
\nStabbed through and just bled out
\nIt\u2019s something all should note<\/p>\n
It\u2019s all done very angrily
\nIn front of other sheep
\nWatching letting them realise
\nWhen their time is up they reap
\nThe disregard the coming death
\nThe frightening exclaim
\nYou see their eyes I tell no lies
\nThe end it does inflame<\/p>\n
The spirit and the humanity
\nOne thinks one is and feels
\nThese are thinking caring
\nsharing Souls and that reveals
\nA terror and incompetence
\nMismanaged and inept
\nAnd causing so much agony
\nWhich tragically is swept<\/p>\n
